Note: The word “Bot” is used in this article to describe the process in its automated form. The word “task bot” is used to identify component parts which make up the Bot.If a Process Definition Document (PDD) is the “as-is” capture of the process, then a Solution Design Document (SDD) is the “to-be”. That is, a diagrammatic representation of what the process will look like once it’s automated.When the process has been approved for automation and the PDD has been signed off by the process owner & technical team, then creating the SDD is the next step in the cycle. Meetup Recap: Working with DLLs in Automation 360

In this session, we discussed about how to create DLLs, how to use them in Automation 360 and their real world applications. Building a DLL To build a DLL, you will need access to an IDE such as Visual Studio , knowledge of C# language and the supported data types in DLL functions within the Automation 360 platform.While creating a DLL in Visual Studio, select the project type Class Library (.Net framework) and the preferred language to build a DLL is C#. Dipendra showed us how to build a simple DLL that can find the minimum and maximum among the 2 input numbers and also from a list of numbers. How to Re-Process Failed Work Items in a Queue

With Workload management, you can quickly process vast amounts of transactions by distributing the workload among multiple devices in the device pool.Let’s say you have created a queue, a device pool and scheduled a bot to run when a specified minimum number of work items are added to the queue. While the transactions are being processed, you may notice that there are a couple of work items that have failed and want to know how to re-process these transactions.Let us look at the steps to fix the data (if needed) and re-process these transactions.In this Invoice Processing example, data from invoices in a specified folder are extracted using IQ Bot and fed into custom web application for payments processing.Here is the breakdown of the two-part bot setup to execute the Invoice processing use case. MetaBots are highly reusable, create it once, and use it everywhere functional subtasks. They are DLL or screen-capture based – and enable organizations to create highly reusable components that can be called from the bots that are created in Automation Anywhere Enterprise v10/v11. Because they can serve as reusable “library” style automation components, Metabots are also used to swiftly accommodate newer versions of apps and services utilized in an enterprise organization. Virtual Meetup Recap: Workload Management in Automation 360

During this virtual meetup, we discussed queues, device pools, workload package, and work items prioritization. Concepts Queue: A queue is one of the main building blocks of Workload Management (WLM). A queue holds data known as Work Items for further processing. The system distributes these Work Items to individual unattended Bot Runners in a device pool for processing.Device Pool: Device pools provide built-in High Availability for the Bot Runner machines. You are not tied to a single Bot Runner machine, so if your Bot Runner machine is unavailable for any reason, your automation is not affected. How to use Google Doc AI package in Automation 360 platform

The Google Doc AI Package enables organizations to extract text from a variety of image and document types using Google’s pre-trained document parsers. The package has a total of 3 actions – Connect, Extract, and Disconnect. The extracted document text is returned as an easy-to-read JSON with key-value data for each extracted field. JSON response received from the API can be parsed using the JSON package which has separate actions for returning a specific node value as well as returning a list of objects should your JSON contain an array.
