Introducing Prompt-to-Automate and Gen AI for Document Automation

Automation Anywhere is committed to lowering the barrier to automation by giving development teams tools to automate real work. With the latest Community Edition update (.38), we’re taking that mission further by introducing generative AI capabilities directly into the platform.

Community Edition users can now access Prompt-to-Automate and Generative AI for Document Automation, available with usage limits. These features bring natural language automation building and intelligent document processing to Community Edition users.

Build Automations with Natural Language Using Prompt-to-Automate

One of the biggest hurdles in automation is getting started. Prompt-to-Automate removes this friction by letting you describe what you want automated in plain language.
With Prompt-to-Automate, you can:

  • Describe an automation goal in natural language.
  • Receive a working draft of automation generated for you.
  • Refine or modify it by asking for changes (in natural language).

Instead of starting from a blank canvas, you start with intent. This creates a faster path from idea to working automation, whether you’re automating a personal task or streamlining a small team process.

Prompt-to-Automate is part of Automation Co-Pilot, designed to help both professional and citizen developers build automations more efficiently. By translating natural language prompts into automation logic, Co-Pilot shortens the development lifecycle and makes automation more accessible to more users.

Unlock Unstructured Data with Gen AI for Document Automation

Documents remain one of the hardest things to automate. Emails, contracts, invoices, resumes, and PDFs rarely follow consistent formats, making traditional rule-based extraction brittle and time-consuming to maintain. Generative AI for Document Automation changes that equation. With Gen AI-enabled Document Automation, Community Edition users can:

  • Extract data from complex, unstructured documents without training models.
  • Instantly validate, route, and act on extracted information.
  • Work across virtually any document type, not just standardized forms.

By combining computer vision with generative AI, Document Automation can understand document context instead of relying only on rigid templates. This enables unlocking and embedding data directly into automated workflows, even when document layouts vary or evolve over time.

Document Automation in Automation Anywhere is a platform-native, open, and extensible Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) solution. You don’t need a data science team or custom model training to get started. Simply upload documents, extract the information you need, and put that data to work in your automations.

This is just the beginning. We plan to roll out more AI-powered capabilities to Community Edition throughout 2026, expanding what individuals and teams can build with automation.
