Question

Extension not working in Edge. Was working previously. Unable to read browser from list. I verified that it works in Chrome.

Extension is enabled. When opening a browser msg ‘AA360 Extension is debugging this browser’

I have removed the device and reinstalled the bot agent with new registration properties. Everything is connected. I am able to deploy automations in EDGE.

I am able to successfully perform recorder captures in Chrome Browser. However, need to be able to do it in Edge as well.

It was working previously in Edge. Nothing is getting blocked by security. Other RPA devs in my organization are able to use recorder captures in Edge. Looking for any help that I can to be able to get recorder captures to work in Edge.

@mateoallimacse Do you have Chrome and Edge running at the same time, both with the extension running? In the past, that caused some conflicts. Not sure if it’s true today, but try disabling the Chrome AA extension and restarting Edge. If that doesn’t work, at least we have one less thing to check. Let us know how it goes!

@mateoallimacse Hmmm. If I launch Edge, I can get the browser list and capture an object. If I launch just an “InPrivate” (incognito) Edge window and refresh the browser list, it is empty, but still doesn’t come up with the same error.

You saw the extension options earlier. You can try enabling the debug options. When you do that, restart Edge and then try capturing the browser list again.

This should create a file here:

C:\ProgramData\AutomationAnywhere\BotRunner\Logs\AAEdgeBotBrowserAgent.log

(note that “ProgramData” is a hidden folder, so you may have to enable viewing hidden folders)

This is what I see in my log, which contains a large number of “not connected” messages. See if your log file is similar or has some “smoking gun” for the problem.

I can get to that path and there is no AAEdgeBotBrowserAgent.log file. I enabled and refreshed Edge.

@mateoallimacse (strokes beard...)

That kind of implies the extension isn’t even running. Here are some things to check:

  • In Task Manager, find Microsoft Edge and expand it. You should see this Service Worker. This is the AA extension.
  • You can try removing the Edge extension and re-adding it. Here is the URL for the extension:
Automation 360 - Microsoft Edge Addons

Let’s try that. Let us know!

Hi @mateoallimacse,

If the solution above didn't help, you may refer to the below article and try the suggested steps,

Your edge plug-in either not installed or disable. For trouble-shooting help, visit the Automation Anywhere Documentation and search for Edge Plug-in

So heres the AA Edge Extension.. I did have the service worker on yours but that was for the chrome extension.

I tried enabling logging again, still no files in the path.

@mateoallimacse Ah, it looks like you may have the wrong Automation Anywhere extension installed. If your Task Manager looks different than mine, that's probably the cause.

Why are there multiple Automation Anywhere extensions on the extension store? I have no idea. Remove the extension you have and install the new one from the link I sent.
