Hi, when i am applying vlookup in two separate files i am getting issue in Excel. I am getting pop up do you want to recover the data. Open action of excel is failing any idea how bot can handle this in next run.

If you find that data in Excel has been lost, the first step is to check for manual recovery options. Try opening the folder where the Excel file was last saved and look for previous versions using the "Restore Previous Versions" feature on Windows or "Time Machine" on macOS. If these methods don’t yield results, you can use dedicated data recovery tools like BLR Data Recovery Tool. This software is designed to scan and recover lost or deleted Excel files quickly and efficiently, offering a reliable solution for retrieving important data that may have been accidentally removed.

Hope this will help you :)

Hi @mandarB

Option 1: Use “Open in Background” (Excel Advanced Package)

  • Use Excel Advanced → Open Workbook
  • Check the box: "Open in Background"
This bypasses UI and suppresses most popups (works best when no Excel UI is needed).

Option 2: Clean Up Source File

In Excel (manually):

  1. Remove broken links:
    • Go to: Data → Edit Links → Check for invalid or missing references
  2. Disable automatic link updates:
    • File → Options → Trust Center → Trust Center Settings → External Content
    • Disable: “Update links to other documents”
  3. Remove hidden corrupted elements:
    • Save as a new file (e.g., .xlsx or .xlsm)
    • Use: File → Info → Check for Issues → Inspect Document
