Need Help: Bot Agent registration failing on Mac M1 (SSL Certificate Validation Error / registration.error)

Hi everyone,

I am trying to register my local machine to the Control Room, but I am running into a roadblock during the setup process and was hoping someone here might have a solution.

During the device registration, the installation successfully passes the "Install Bot Agent" and "Enable Extension" steps, but it hangs indefinitely on the "Connecting your computer" step (as seen in my attached screenshot image_2d888a.jpg).

Eventually, it times out and throws the following error:

Unable to connect to the Control Room and it may be due to not being able validate the SSL certificate presented by the Control Room.

This may be due to multiple reasons. To continue, please
  1. Check to see if the SSL certificate has been added to the Java Key Store that is bundled with the bot agent. Then, try again.

Error code: registration. Error (See attached image_2d8868.png)

My System Environment:

  • Device: Mac mini (M1, 2020)

  • Chip: Apple M1

  • Memory: 16 GB

  • OS: macOS Tahoe 26.5

My Questions:

  1. Has anyone successfully configured the Bot Agent on an Apple Silicon (M1) Mac running this version of macOS? Are there any known compatibility issues?

  2. Does anyone have the exact terminal commands or steps required to add the Control Room SSL certificate to the bundled Java Key Store specifically on a macOS environment?

Any guidance, documentation links, or workarounds would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your help!

Regards

Nikhil Reddy R

I solely use automation anywhere on my Mac and I've never experienced this error at all. I'd advise uninstalling the bot agent completely, and installing it again. Perhaps even restarting between both of those steps. Make sure you’re doing this in Chrome as well.

Are you using your personal laptop or your work Mac? I’m facing this issue on my office laptop ?

@Nikhil Tejh Reddy R Good evening, I hope you're well.

I installed it without any problems on: M4/Sequoia 15.5.

Try installing the bot agent for all users.

    I’ve used both.

However, comparing any work laptop setups is not a valid comparison as our respective orgs will use different software and policies.

    Hi Everyone,
This is the same issue I am facing with...
when try to connect control room, it always pop up below error.

But I found it can connect successfully in my teammate's Mac, checked and found the certificate showing is different between my Mac and his Mac, do you know how to fix this issue?
