Welcome back to our Product Club Recap, where we share a recap of Automation Anywhere’s product leaders sharing the freshest innovations and insider insights! This July, we dove into “Mastering Automation Cloud Service Deployment,” exploring how to transform on-premise automation with cloud-native, scalable, and low-latency Automation Cloud Service (formerly API Task).

Let’s meet the session hosts:

Aziz Khan, Senior Director of Product Management
Vineet Pujari, Senior Product Manager
Lu Hunnicutt, Community Manager

But first, what is Product Club all about?
Product Club is all about YOU—our incredible community! It’s a space to connect, learn, and get inspired by live demos, real-world use cases, and direct access to the product team. Your feedback helps shape the future of automation at Automation Anywhere, so it’s also the chance for you to learn and share your insights. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or just starting your automation journey, there’s always something new to discover! Subscribe to our Events page to be notified whenever a new Product Club session gets scheduled.

Let’s dive in! Here’s what went down during the session:

The session began by addressing the challenges of maintaining traditional VM- and desktop-based automation environments and the benefits of transitioning to Automation Cloud Service. This cloud-native, containerized Linux runtime environment reduces maintenance, offers dynamic scaling, and enables low-latency automations—perfect for boosting Automation Co-Pilot and AI-powered workflows.

Aziz and Vineet shared insights on how Automation Cloud Service can be deployed both on public clouds (AWS, GCP) and soon in private cloud/on-premise environments, offering customers flexibility while maintaining strict security controls.

Demo
Vineet showcased a real-world use case of automating cash application reconciliation. An API Task processed bank statement payments, applied them to invoices in the ERP system, and flagged exceptions for human review—all running automatically in the cloud without manual device management. Another demo highlighted how API Tasks power real-time attended automations such as employee time-off requests integrated directly within Microsoft Teams via Automation Co-Pilot forms.

These demos illustrated the power of Automation Cloud Service to handle both attended and unattended automation with high scalability, low latency, and seamless integration via connectors.

The team emphasized that Agentic Process Automation (APA) complements traditional RPA bots rather than replace them, each suited for different automation needs. Future enhancements will continue expanding private cloud deployment options and integration capabilities.

For those eager to explore early access, Aziz and Vineet invited the community to reach out for preview trials and feedback opportunities to help shape the product’s direction. (If you’d like to be part of this, please email Lu.Hunnicutt@automationanywhere.com, and she will get you sorted).

Session Q&A
Q: Will Automation Cloud Service be available on-premise?
A: Yes, private cloud/on-premise deployment is coming soon to give customers full control over their environments.

Q: How do API Tasks differ from task bots?
A: Automation Cloud Service (API Tasks) provide faster, scalable, low-latency automation by running containerized cloud runtime environments that spin up/down dynamically, unlike bots limited by device availability.

Q: Can API Tasks be triggered by events?
A: Yes, Api Tasks support event-based triggers from applications like Salesforce, Jira, and Outlook for real-time automation.

Q: How is Automation Cloud Service licensed?
A: Automation Cloud Service is licensed based on execution time (per minute), with SKUs providing 50,000 executions and concurrent cloud device capacity.

Q: Will the session slides be shared?
A: Yes, slides are in the comments below!
