These sessions are designed to keep our community informed, connected, and inspired by showcasing real-life product demos and discussing practical use cases. Subscribe to our events page to receive notifications when a new Product Club event gets scheduled. We hope to see you at the next one.

P.S. If you can’t attend a meeting, no worries — we'll be dropping a recap of each month's session right here in our Product Club hub.

HOSTS
Lu Hunnicutt , Pathfinder Community Manager
Peter White, Sr. Vice President, Emerging Products
Mudit Chaudry , Product Manager, Principal

TOPIC
In this session, we explored Document Automation and how to implement this product into your current automation program. The focus was on how Automation Anywhere leverages generative AI to enhance document processing capabilities and streamline workflows.

Here’s a rundown of the session:

  1. Introduction to Document Automation: Peter introduced the concept of Agentic Process Automation (APA), emphasizing the shift from traditional RPA to a more dynamic and intelligent approach that integrates AI for better automation outcomes.
  2. Key Features of Document Automation: Mudit provided insights into the capabilities of the Document Automation product, including:
    1. Extraction of data from various document types, including unstructured documents like contracts and invoices
    2. Integration with third-party technologies such as Google Doc AI and Microsoft Document Intelligence for enhanced extraction capabilities
  3. Real-World Use Cases: The team discussed how different organizations use Document Automation to improve efficiency:
    1. A wealth management firm automated 93% of customer ACH setup forms, achieving 99.9% accuracy in data extraction .
    2. A utility company utilized document automation to extract data from technical engineering documents, reducing manual work and errors.
  4. Live Demo: Mudit demonstrated an end-to-end loan pre-approval process using Document Automation 1.6. The demo showcased:
    1. How a sales representative uploads a W2 statement to the Automation Anywhere Copilot.
    2. The extraction of relevant data using generative AI.
    3. The AI agent assessing risk and making initial approval decisions based on the extracted data.

DOCUMENT AUTOMATION IN ACTION
Document Automation capabilities allow organizations to handle documents seamlessly, whether they are structured or unstructured. By leveraging generative AI, businesses can automate the extraction and processing of data from various document types, leading to significant time savings and improved accuracy.

DEMO HIGHLIGHT
A key highlight was the demonstration of a loan pre-approval process, where the AI agent extracted data from a W2 form, assessed risk, and initiated the approval workflow. This showcased the efficiency and accuracy of combining AI with document automation.

SESSION Q&A
Thank you to our audience for submitting their questions! Here are some highlights from the Q&A session:

Q. Will Automation Anywhere Document extraction works for hand written prescriptions?
A. We can handle handwritten documents and are using our new vision LLMs for that especially now.

Q. LLMs are able to recognise documents pretty accurately. What sets AA apart?
A. There is a lot more than LLM calls that we do to both improve the accuracy of extraction and to avoid hallucinations and errors. We do significant pre-processing and post-processing and have a continuous feedback mechanism to improve extraciton. I’ll talk about this more if we have time after the demo.

Q. Where do files get extracted to? Can this be customized?
A. Yes, you decide what happens with the data after it’s extracted. There are lots of options and different things customers choose to do with extracted data. It is just a part of the automation flow that you can define.

Q. Can you share a video link or tutorial that demonstrates end to end development process of using document automation.
A. Check out this free course that gives an overview and more detailed info on setting up document automation.

Q. In Community edition we have 2 options, like invoice and user, defined, so how do we access other options like pdf?
A. right now community edition has this enabled, we are looking to expand on this including option to test with GenAI.
