You’ve seen them quite often around the Pathfinder-verse, heard them speak at events or virtual meetings, maybe even dialogued with them in a forum thread—they’re our Most Valuable Pathfinders! They are the spark keeping the Pathfinder Community ablaze, so it was about time we took a beat to really get to know each one of our MVPs better and share their unique stories with you!

So without further ado, let’s get to know…

Ram Kumar

The Basics

  • Years of Automation Experience: 7 years
  • Current Company: GEA Group North America
  • Official Title: Head of Digital Transformation

But this is how Ram would actually describe what he does: When my son asks what I do, I tell him I build little blocks and put them together like Legos to keep processes running.

  • Biggest Professional Achievement to date: In his current role, Ram transformed the automation program from a one-person team into a global program automating across the enterprise. In a previous role, he’s also proud of his work implementing data digitization. Now, he’s excited to combine his experience from these two great achievements and embark on a journey with generative AI!

Five Fun Facts

  • His birthday is July 12
  • His all-time favorite TV show is Friends, but lately he’s loving The Big Bang Theory
  • If he could have a super power, he’d like to be able to harness youth - to that we say, Preach!
  • One adventurous thing he’d like to do is go on a Himalayan trek
  • The next item on his travel bucket list is to explore the Northern and Eastern regions of India

Expertise / Specializations

With over seven years of experience in automation and RPA implementation, it’s no surprise that Ram is a technical whiz. And like his peers, he’s all eyes on generative AI. For him, gone are the days of task automation and creating metabots. Rather than focusing on hyperautomation, he believes generative AI is the key to unlocking cognitive automation times 10—where automations can learn and multiple users can connect their automations—this is what genuinely excites him every morning!

If Ram had one piece of advice for someone new to automation it would be:

“This is the right time to get in or you’ll miss the bus. AI and automation will impact every function in every organization, big or small. If you want to get started in automation, understand it’s a continuous learning journey and your only limit is your imagination!”

Ram in the Community

When Ram was the sole member of the automation team at GEA Group, they asked if he could make “Ram Kumar clones.” While a bit tongue-in-cheek, this ask officially allowed Ram to mentor up-and-coming automation engineers, which he really enjoyed!

As an Automation Anywhere MVP, Ram is looking forward to connecting more closely with the Automation Anywhere Product team to give valuable feedback during vital points of the product development process. With his strong background in business feedback and experience with a breadth of use cases, he believes he’ll be a great partner who can positively impact Automation Anywhere’s end solutions. We are so glad to have you, Ram, for precisely this reason!

What’s Next for Ram

Besides working toward harnessing the power of generative AI, Ram and his team are hoping to implement Automation Co-Pilot as a complement to Process Discovery and Document Automation to fuel their automation expansion across the company.

Thank you, Ram, for letting us all get to know you better. And thank you for your continued contributions to our Pathfinder Community!
