If the device registration in your control room has stopped working after updating Chrome, this post is for you.

Chrome browser version 142 introduces a new Local Network Access restriction. Registering a device on the control room depends on these local network calls. Read on to know how you can get rid of this error for good.

TL;DR: enable local network access in your Chrome Settings, reload, and retry registration.

Option 1: Update Permissions via Site Information

  1. Open the Control Room URL in Chrome.

  2. Select the tuner icon (🎚️)  in the address bar.

  3. Look for Local Network Access.

  4. Click on the slider once to enable access.

  5. Retry device registration in your control room.

Step 2

Option 2: Disable the Local Network Access Checks Flag

If you prefer to bypass this restriction entirely, you can disable Chrome’s experimental flag.

  1. In Chrome, go to: chrome://flags/#local-network-access-check

  2. Set Local Network Access Checks to Disabled.

  3. Relaunch Chrome.

  4. Retry device registration in your control room.
