Triggers Cannot return a value

Hello.I set up a trigger as shown below and assigned it to the record variable.

When I assign it to the record variable, I get the error "Cannot return a value." If I don't include the record variable in the assign, the error doesn't occur.

Why does this "Cannot return a value" error occur? The same error persists even after changing the package. Control Room version is v38.
