Does Automation Anywhere support multi-factor authentication solutions like Okta for automated VM logins?

Yes. https://docs.automationanywhere.com/bundle/enterprise-v2019/page/enterprise-cloud/topics/control-room/administration/settings/two-factor-authentication.html

What methods are available to avoid interactive login requirements (username + password) when performing unattended deployments?

When users cannot access their MFA authentication, the administrator can disable and reset the user’s MFA requirements. This is useful for unattended deployments. https://docs.automationanywhere.com/bundle/enterprise-v2019/page/enterprise-administration.html

You can host VMs in your internal data center or in the cloud and access them via RDP. Install the Bot Agent on the server and set it up with an unattended bot runner account and you’re good to go. https://docs.automationanywhere.com/bundle/enterprise-v2019/page/enterprise-cloud/topics/bot-agent/bot-agent-auto-login-support.html

@Aaron.Gleason  The first link specifies the 2fa for authentication on control room UI.

I am interested in the virtual machine login, which bot agent does to unlock the screen/create interactive session for UI automation.

Would it be able to support 2fa as some organisation have 2fa via sso even for machine login to enforce security.

Are there other methods of authentication supported to login to vm without using just username + password.

The short answer is very likely “Yes” to the above, but your questions are beyond my personal knowledge in this area.

I would recommend creating a support ticket and speaking with professional services to get specifics and/or implementation. Email support@automationanywhere.com to start that ticket.

You can also email me personally and I can try and get you in touch with the correct people: aaron.gleason@automationanywhere.com
