This issue pertains to the community edition of Automation Anywhere.

I started trying to test Automation Anywhere recently, and ran into issues when trying to download the local connection to my computer, which is a work computer and has a firewall. This firewall blocked the simple message bot I created to test the system and the bot just kept loading until I closed the loading screen. At that point, the bot appeared to still be running in the Control Room so I was unable to kill the process or delete it.

I ended up deleting the bot in the ‘Automation’ page of the CR, but this didn’t solve the issue. So I uninstalled the app and deleted all my files related to Automation Anywhere. This still didn’t solve my issue and now I am stuck with a disconnected local device which I can’t delete because “Cannot delete device, as it is part of an active bot deployment”, and an ‘in-progress’ bot that has unknown status and I can’t seem to be able to kill. In order to reinstall the application so I can get the enterprise version I must be able to delete my local device which I cannot do because of the active bot which I cannot kill. Please advise! Otherwise I won’t be able to buy and install the enterprise version!

Common question here.

Try the reset option 2-3 times and that should reset your device.
