Hi,

The email server is not sending mail or showing any error while running. It keeps on running, even for over an hour. The configuration used is as follows:

Email server : smtp.office365.com

Port no: 587/25 (both having same situation)

As per Biocon policy, the SSL/TSL must be enabled. When it is not enabled, the bot shows a Connection error message. PFA the screenshots and run log from CR. Kindly provide a solution for this.

Hi @LSS 5396,

First of all, the error screenshot is missing. Kindly share the same.

You can also try adding Try-Catch handler to see what is the exact reason for this abnormality.

Also, kindly share the connection configuration which you have made in the BOT.

Dear @LSS 5396,

There are a few potential reasons why the email server might not be sending mail or showing an error when running. Here are a few things you can try to troubleshoot the issue:

  1. Check the email server and port settings: Make sure that you have entered the correct email server and port settings in the automation. The settings you have provided (smtp.office365.com and port 587 or 25) are correct, but it's always a good idea to double-check.

  2. Verify the SSL/TLS settings: As per Biocon policy, the SSL/TLS must be enabled when sending emails. Make sure that this setting is enabled in the automation.

  3. Check for connectivity issues: It's possible that there could be a problem with the network connection that is preventing the automation from connecting to the email server. Make sure that you have a stable network connection and try running the automation again.

  4. Check for errors in the run log: The run log from the Control Room may contain information that can help you identify the cause of the problem. Look for any error messages or other clues that might help you troubleshoot the issue.

Hi,

@Padmakumar  PFA the screenshots.

@Zaibi 1. the settings are right.

             2. When enabled, it keeps on running. I had only disabled to get any error message.

             3. Connection is stable.

Hi @LSS 5396 ,

Seems you have a network issue. I guess you can login using  that account in web outlook 365.

Try perform a telnet command as follows:

If connection is ok, you should receive a response like this

Verify your DNS and check if you get a response from ping command.

  • Are you able to access your Mailbox online?
  • Is 2-Factor authentication enabled on your account? If so, connection attempt from bot will fail because of that. You must disable it, or, with the help of your mail admin team, you can provide a generic mail ID for which, the 2-Factor authentication is not required

Also, please check whether your firewall setting is blocking the connection or not. If it is enabled, try again after disabling it.

@LSS 5396 check this article for port info.. looks like wrong port - https://help.business.bt.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/18515/~/what-are-the-office-365-server-settings%3F

@LSS 5396 ,

Seems the connections is OK. Try to test with another email account (even free account) in order to verify any issue related with your account  and verify you arent using special characters in your password.
