Hi All,

We are currently facing an issue with the Email Event Trigger in Automation 360.

When a new email arrives, the Email Event Trigger fires correctly, but it is automatically marking the email as “Read”. Because of this, when the bot starts and looks for unread emails, it does not find anything — the trigger has already read the email in the first instance.

Has anyone faced this behavior before, and is there a way to prevent the Email Trigger from marking emails as read? Or is there a recommended best practice to handle this scenario?

Any guidance or workaround would be really helpful.

Thanks!

@Shreya.Kumar -- you’re an email event trigger wizard! Any insight into this?

Hi! We just start experiencing the same issue. Have you managed to fix that?

Is everyone sure it is AA that is causing this or is this Microsoft Outlook 365 itself? Per Microsoft:

> Outlook can mark messages as read as soon as they're selected or after a short delay.

Maybe it is the process of touching the email that causes Outlook to mark it as read.

Microsoft documents that Outlook can mark messages as read as soon as they're selected or after a short delay.

I’m just thinking out loud, because I have numerous issues when working with email triggers and Outlook. I’ve had to table my research until a time I can dig deep into it.

Hi! Yes it was caused by AA Bot Agent.

@Dandy Huang has found the root cause and fix the problem by reinstalling and reconfiguring the Bot Agent on the runner’s host.
