Hi all,

I’ve been unable to connect to my local device on my BOT CREATOR license recently.

I can clearly see my device is connected from my CR to my local device.

When I try run a simple message box bot as a test, it keeps throwing this error. I am sure that the ID and Password is 100% correct.

I read a solution article that it might be due to deployment settings, but this is greyed out.

I have admin access and can toggle other devices. It’s only specifically for this user/device that I cannot edit.

Note: Recorder action works on my device

Some solutions that I have tried running

  1. Reinstalling bot agent
  2. Clearing all cache files, %ProgramData%, %AppData%, AA folder
  3. Removing device from Control Room
  4. Restarting computer

Bring up a command prompt/terminal/PowerShell window and enter the command whoami (all one word). That is the value to put into the domain\user area. Leave the password blank.

Hi Aaron, the username in the screenshot is just used as a placeholder/censored version for posting. I’ve tried that and the result is exactly the same when we hit the refresh button for the username.

Try the following steps :

Control room : Unlink Device from user → Administration → users → move back device which is linked

Control Room : Manage → Device → delete

Device :

Uninstall Botagent from control panel

delete -Automation Anywhere folder

C:\Windows\System32\config\systemprofile\AppData\Local\AutomationAnywhere

C:\programdata\Automation anywhere folder

Open control room from device, download and install Bot agent

Update user credentials under setting → device
