Are there any plans to expand this to other browsers especially as Microsoft Edge is now based on chromium.
Isn't the extension just listening for JS to inject.
Surely this can be done everywhere?

If you wish to work with JavaScript, then you can downloads the Web Automation Package which operates like Selenium.
It operates with sessions, so as long as you have the driver for the Browser you wish to work with, you can automate any browser, and you may also Execute JavaScript using the action highlighted in the screenshot below:
