Hi Jean,

The Document Automation and the IQ bot are completely different IDP modules. Document automation is here to stay for long. IQ bot is going to get phased out eventually. Here’s the resource material for you to dive into and explore.

Thanks

@jean.bc  We will be hosting a Product Club session specifically on Document Automation on December 13th - I highly recommend attending! Our product leaders will be on hand to directly answer your questions.

Additionally, I found this FAQ in our documentation, which may also provide additional clarity:

Hi @jean.bc,

Please find the below,

IQ Bot and Document Automation are two different modules of Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) offered by Automation Anywhere.

Document Automation is used to extract semi-structured or unstructured data from documents using RPA bots and automate document-centric business processes. It is fully integrated into Automation 360 and is installed as part of the Control Room.

IQ Bot, on the other hand, is an AI-powered module that uses machine learning to extract data from semi-structured and unstructured documents. It is a separate module from Document Automation and is going to be phased out eventually.

In terms of functionality, IQ Bot is more powerful than Document Automation when it comes to training the learning instance by selecting the field name and value. However, Document Automation is pre-trained and you can only validate afterwards.

I hope this helps!

Hi Tamil,

is document automation free to use for the community version of automation anywhere? As when I read the tutorial on document automation, there were options that were not available in the community version so I am stuck. I posted my question here and no one has replied yet: What to do? as Automation 360 IQbot will no longer be available from november 28 2023 | Community (automationanywhere.com)

Hi @jean.bc ,

Please find the below inline response,

is document automation free to use for the community version of automation anywhere?

The Community Edition version offers users limited features from the document processing solutions Document Automation and Automation 360 IQ Bot. This version is available to users for free.

Users are not required to purchase a license and there are no time limitations. However, there are some functionality constraints as follows:
  • You can create a maximum of five learning instances per user.
  • You cannot delete a learning instance.
  • In the learning instance list, you can view and access only the learning instances and data that you created.
  • You cannot integrate a Community Edition version of Document Automation with an Automation 360 IQ Bot environment.
  • Google Document AI and Standard forms are not supported.
