I had a task bot running on my device when I had an internet outage. The task bot is now in the Activity tab in Unknown Status. I have tried a few options mentioned by the community:

  • uninstalling the bot agent - did not work, after reinstalling I still have the same issues
  • deleting the device - will not let me due to the device being used to run the task bot
  • using this link https://developer.automationanywhere.com/deletedevice.php to delete the device - does not seem to work, I can still see the device and cannot delete it manually as the device is still being used for running the task bot)

I can now not reconnect my device to the Control Room as after using the above link, I get the following error message when trying to connect to the Bot Agent: devicemanagement.register.validation.single.device.

I am using Community2.

Any advice is much appreciated, thanks

Of course as soon as I post the answer I manage to fix the issue. For anyone looking in future, use this link, but select “Reset” instead of “reset and Delete” https://developer.automationanywhere.com/deletedevice.php

@RoamingKiwi Thanks for the update! I’ll make “Reset” the default on that page since that seems to work better as of late.
