You can, but I'm using that term very lightly.
You can connect to an existing web browser provided it was launched with the Chrome/Edge Driver.
As for connecting with it, there is a field in the Web Automation: Start Session Action which accepts an existing remote session port number.

While @Ashwin A.K is technically correct - I'd add the other point of clarification is that you can't use both recorder & web automation for the same session... its either a session that was already open/launched by Automation Anywhere browser package, or its a session started by a chrome/edge driver or started by the Web Automation Start Session action... you cant do both recording (as defined by AA) and selenium web automation in the same session
