Welcome to Week 1 of APA Training Camp!

We’re excited to kick off this journey into the realm of what’s possible with Agentic Process Automation. During the next 4 weeks, you will gain the knowledge and skills to elevate your automation capabilities from RPA to APA, with week 1 focusing on Foundations and Framework.

Let’s Dive In!

This week you will focus on the concepts of Agentic Process Automation (APA) and its transformative potential. Our goal this week is to set the stage for where we’re going and help define terms and lay the foundation for APA implementation within your current program.

Step 1: Complete Your Week 1 Courses

In week 1 you will start with an introduction to APA and an enablement framework, before diving into implementation and technical foundations. These courses should take about 1 hour and 30 minutes to complete. Go here to complete your Week 1 courses.

Don't have a University account yet? Create one to get started with this week's courses.

  1. Introduction to Agentic Process Automation (APA)
  2. Facilitating Transformation with the APA Enablement Framework
  3. Solving Problems with Agentic Process Automation
  4. Exploring Technologies that Power APA Transformation
  5. Integrating Human-in-the-Loop with Automation Anywhere
  6. Establishing Model Connections and AI Governance

Implications of connecting your bot agent to our control room:
Our control room is updated to version 36, meaning the bot agent version used to connect to our control room might conflict with the version required for your control room. Our bot agent is 22.140.22. If you do not have access to uninstall/reinstall bot agents manually, consider using a personal device to participate in training camp otherwise you might have trouble reconnecting to your control room.

Access issues with model connections:
Automation anywhere model connections deploy the connection configurations to your device to execute. If your organization has blocked access to large language models, you will have to use a personal device to participate.
Because of these concerns, we recommend participating on a personal device to maximize your experience with Agentic Process Automation Training Camp.

Step 2: Use the Discussion Guide to Plan Your Team's APA Journey

Schedule time with your automation team to complete the downloadable Week 1 Team Discussion Guide and Week 1 Activity. These activities facilitate collaborative discussions around APA capabilities and evaluations for your current programs and help you pinpoint the next steps in incorporating agentic process automations.

Step 3: Check out the Question Recap Posts

We know that if you’re wondering about something, chances are someone else is too. So, we’ve gathered common Week 1 questions to help you navigate the training sessions with ease. This recap is designed to clear up confusion and keep you on track as you explore the world of Agentic Process Automation.

You can review the Question Recap below:

Step 4: Check out our Coaching Session Recording

Check out the recording of the Live Coaching Session here. During the session, you will follow along with Automation Anywhere’s Director of Community & Learning, @Matt.Stewart  and MVP, @Rasika S, as they guide you through the Week 1 Team Activity. Together, you’ll explore the process for identifying APA implementation next steps in real time, putting the insights gained from this week into action.

Step 5: Take Part in Our Discussion Series

Click on the link below to take part in our weekly community discussions. Have questions? This is a great spot for you to ask them AND to see what others are thinking about the trainings so far.

And finally, What are you looking forward to learning the most this week? Drop your comments below ⬇️

Hi @Lu.Hunnicutt,

In response to your question, What are you looking forward to learning the most this week?:

👉🏼 This week, I'm looking forward to diving deeper into the general concepts of APA and starting to develop a hands-on exercise. 💪🏼👷🏽🚀
👉🏼 Esta semana tengo muchas ganas de profundizar en los conceptos generales sobre APA y comenzar a desarrollar un ejercicio práctico. 💪🏼👷🏽🚀

I am ready too!

This is my favorite screenshot to get!

Were you able to get this fixed by reinstalling the bot agent?

Getting Bot runner Javascript fail error, I see most of them are getting it in above comments. Can you please provide a solution.

Please edit the task bot, in the assets folder and doing the following:

Cloning and copying the task bot called Test Bot Runners, disable the section in red and enable the section in green. Then update the ERIC process to point to your newly edited task bot. This should sort that out for you.

When trying to install the Automation Agent that downloads for the this course, I get this screen even though I am an admin on this computer.

It goes through the install, but nothing installs.

Can you confirm that you have the correct installation permissions? I recommend trying it on a personal device to see if any issues are faced, and then let me know. Please send me a private message so I can see it quickly vs replying in this thread.

buenos dias! tengo este problema, alguien sabe que puede estar pasando ?

It refers to the group of people in your organization who are involved in automation initiatives—this typically includes:

  • RPA Developers

  • Business Analysts

  • Automation Architects

  • Process Owners

  • IT Support Members

  • Project Managers

  • Or anyone helping to evaluate, build, or implement automation strategies (especially using Automation Anywhere or similar platforms)

The goal is to bring together everyone responsible for or affected by automation to collaboratively:

  • Discuss your current automation landscape

  • Evaluate APA (Agentic Process Automation) capabilities

  • Identify areas of improvement

  • Plan how APA can align with business goals

So, even if you're a solo contributor, it's encouraged to engage with colleagues, mentors, or stakeholders who are part of or benefit from the automation journey.

Good morning, I am receiving this error message when I attempt to run ERIC

Hi @Alleeg,
Please follow the steps mentioned in the below post to run ERIC. It seems you are trying to run it in a different way.
Meet Eric – Event Readiness and Information Collector

Hello @Vatsy,

I do not have the option to run when viewing the bot as shown in the directions.

AA Team,

🤔Is tomorrow's LIVE Coaching Session the same session for Developers and Leaders?

🤔¿La sesión LIVE Coaching de mañana es la misma para Desarrolladores y Líderes?

Hello @Vatsy,

I do not have the option to run when viewing the bot as shown in the directions.

Hey Alleeq, it looks like you're opening the original ERIC process, which is why you're not seeing the option — as shown in your screenshot. Please make sure to follow the steps outlined in the tutorial below.

Here are the main steps to solve your issue:

1️⃣ First, clone the ERIC Process to your private folder.
2️⃣ Second, make a copy of the process.
3️⃣ Third, open the copied ERIC Process — now you should see the RUN option.

Below is the Tutorial link for your reference:

I have run into an infinite loading spinning wheel when I try to connect my local computer to the control room. Its not just me, my co-worker who sits next to me is experiencing the same infinite loading wheel. Note that we both had our computers connected to a different control room before we reinstalled the bot agent to this new control room.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Fixed the issue, sharing in case anyone has a similar issue. I had to reopen the automationanywherebotagent.exe and during that second run, it uninstalled the bot agent. I then ran the exe again (time number 3) and it re-installed the bot agent. Then, finally, the bot agent was able to connect to my PC

AA Team,

Yes @Julio Cesar.R, it is the same for both the tracks.

I haven’t received any email with the credentials, also sent email to community@automationanywhere.com but there’s no response.

Who can help on get the credentials?

Please wait and they will get back to you as soon as possible. They are receiving large number of emails.

I have received the credentials. Thank you

While running ERIC, I can see the attached screen and it didn't asked for any details like NAME, EMAIL which is mentioned on the guidance.

Process completed without any error and the output is not the same as expected,

I have followed exactly the same step but did get the expected results, can someone guide?

I wanted to mention that the week 1 Activity is an excellent job aid.  However, the PDF file would be much better tool if it was downloadable as a fillable form.  this way i could use it directly without having to manually copy and paste it into excel or word and make it a workable resouce.

attached is a spreadsheet if anyone is interested.

Sorry, I am late in the game, are there any Control room set up steps from the week -1. I am able to log on to my Control Room with the provided credentials and no issue connecting to local agent. I see few screenshots posted here, did I miss any step to do post set up step??
