I’m walking away from this week just trying to assess where we might have some Gen-AI / agentic needs.

Currently, we have a very limited RPA program - no AI and we just use task bots.

We are mid-size and mostly B2B, so most of the flashy gen AI use cases (loan applications, call center assistant, etc.) do not apply.

Also, our RPA program is still sequestered to the accounting/finance group plus our invoicing system is already very efficient.

I am thinking of reaching out to some people in adjacent groups which might benefit from natural language processing.

I can’t wait to actually get automating next week!

One key insight that really resonated with me this week came from the customer support example shared in the first Leaders Track session. It sparked some deep reflection about the future of work and education in the age of AI.

I’ve long been concerned about a growing divide between people who use AI critically and proactively, and those who rely on it passively. But this session introduced a new layer: Are we on the verge of a fundamental transformation in how education and expertise are developed?

Currently, RPA handles routine customer support tasks like data collection and call routing, while humans step in for the more complex issues. It’s still an overwhelming experience — many of us have felt that firsthand. But with APA (Agentic Process Automation), this model might flip. AI agents could soon be taking over the more sophisticated tasks — with humans simply supervising their work.

This shift raises profound questions about leadership and long-term expertise. While domain experts will be essential in the short term, what happens when AI takes over the "hard stuff"? Could deep, hard-earned knowledge slowly erode if it's no longer needed day-to-day?

That naturally leads to a bigger question about education: How do we preserve critical thinking, expertise, and contextual understanding in a world where machines can do so much? Personally, I once prioritized hands-on experience over formal education — but I’ve come to realize how foundational structured learning and strong mentorship really are.

So here’s what I’m left wondering:
➡️ Will education evolve into a more mentorship-based model — one that emphasizes human connection, lived wisdom, and contextual learning over passive content consumption?

As we move forward in the training camp, I envision applying this foundational knowledge by staying grounded in that mentor mindset — not just absorbing information, but actively sharing, questioning, and co-learning with others. I look forward to interacting more with my team and the broader community to grow together and continue this journey as pioneers.

We’re living through a truly fascinating shift — and I’m glad we’re having these conversations.

P.S. Yes, I polished this with AI. The first version was definitely a bit chaotic. 😅

Hello AA community,

For me, the most impactful takeaway from week 1 was understanding the importance of identifying AI capabilities and how they can be segmented into various types:

  • Classification
  • Sentiment analysis
  • Entity recognition and extraction
  • Language translation
  • Summarization
  • Data transformation
  • Content generation
  • Decision-making.

By categorizing these capabilities, we can better determine which ones are applicable to each client use case.
This also helps us identify the AA tools that can be grouped together to present a comprehensive APA solution proposal for the use case, such as:

  • AI Agents
  • AI Skills
  • Automation Co-pilot
  • Document Automation
  • Bots
  • Model Connections

I hope to apply this knowledge with practical exercises, where I can identify different AI capabilities along with several of the new AA AI tools.

Lets go! - ¡Vamos!

I appreciated the list of 8 AI Capabilities and how they get broken down. I’m hoping that will be clarifying for people within my organization as they consider how they might use AI in their function and/or processes.
