What is the relation between window variables and and recorder capture actions? Initial analysis says that as the window title changes, so does the variable. Is that a correct assumption to make or is there any other criteria for variable change too?

The Recorder Action uses the Window Variable as a crutch to detect which "window" to work on.

They don't affect each other.

I would suggest creating a Window Variable by toggling it over to Application instead of Browser(contains an uneditable URL so there isn't much we can do with it) and add Wildcards in the Window Title so as to make it dynamic enough to work with the window even if the title gets modified in the next update.
