I am getting an error as “An unknown error occurred when executing the 'OpenExcel' command. To continue, contact your system administrator. in automation anywhere community version”

→ Excel is installed

→ office is reinstalled

→ office repair is done

You will see this message when the call to open Excel fails. This means that there is either a problem with your Excel installation (yes, I know you did all the repair stuff) or there is a piece of software interfering with the call.

I would work with your IT department to see what software (e.g., antivirus, anti-malware, IT management) that is interfering with this call.

You can prove that it works by trying another computer within your company. If that still fails, try the community edition on your personal computer. One of those should work, then work backward to find the offending software.

You're absolutely right, this error can be incredibly frustrating, especially after trying all the usual fixes like reinstalling and repairing Office. It might be worth checking if the Automation Anywhere Excel package is updated to the latest version, as outdated components can sometimes trigger such errors. Also, ensure that the Excel application is not already running in the background, as that can occasionally interfere with the command execution.

@mmadne have you been able to give these solutions a go?

Excel crashes on opening since Office update | Community

I am still experiencing this - unsure if same error you getting?
