I want to know how an application environments access should be assigned to a Bot Id.

Same Bot ID could be used in Dev, UAT and Prod environment or there should be different Bot Ids for all the environment.

Are there are any best practice to assign application environment to Bot IDs which we should follow.

Hello @Surbhi Yadav ,

This is Dhwanit Parekh from Automation Anywhere Technical Support Team.

Looking at the description of your query, from what I am interpreting, ideally, you don't give bot id (Bot runner/bot creator users) access to your applications (which is being automated.

Whatever user has access to application, you store credetials of that user into credential vault (a secure credential storage location built into Control Room application).

Please refer to below articles to understand more about them.

Credential provisioning to bots

Bot ID actually takes part in installation of Bot Agent application.

You have 2 options while installing bot agent.

System_wide

User_specific

Below article interates the comparison between both.

Considering all above you can generate your bot ids accordingly.

Hope that helps.

If there are still any open questions, let us know and we'll be happy to answer.
